A number of events were held for World NGO Day in Nur-Sultan

On February 27, 2020, at the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Civil Initiatives Support Center, an event dedicated to the celebration of World Non-Governmental Organizations Day was held in the building of the Republican Front Office for Volunteers “Birgemіz”.

The event was attended by a deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a member of the Committee for Social and Cultural Development and Science Kapbarova Aigul, vice minister of information and social development Gabidulla Ospankulov, chairman of the board of the Civil Initiatives Support Center Batima Mukina, leaders and representatives of non-governmental organizations.

The event was held with the aim of increasing the capacity of non-governmental organizations on the development of effective interaction and expansion of cooperation between NGOs, government bodies and international organizations.

During the event, following master classes were held: Professional and Effective Fundraising, speaker – Rinat Temirbekov, Needs Assessment as part of social marketing, speaker – Mahabbat Espenova, Media Promotion, speakers – Ulan Abishev, Miras Irgebaev.

Given the relevance of social entrepreneurship, speakers Ardak Otarbayev and Miras Abbasov held a seminar on the main trends in the development of social entrepreneurship.

The international specialist in Humanities and Social Sciences of the UNESCO Cluster Office, Arina Myasoed, held aproject management master class on Designing Projects Using the UNESCO Project Planning Tool.

During the event, the final beneficiaries of social projects gave speeches in the TEDx format.

In addition, during the day, expertsfrom the non-profit joint-stock Civil Initiatives Support Center, Samruk-Kazyna Trust and the Center for Civil Initiatives in the city of Nur-Sultan conducted consulting services.

Following the event, an exhibition of social entrepreneurs was organized.

Such events create the conditions for increasing the potential of non-governmental organizations and, in general, assist the development of civil society in Kazakhstan.

World NGO Day is a great opportunity to learn about the activities of non-governmental organizations and to thank them for the tremendous work done for the community. This is an international symbol reflecting the global values of non-governmental organizations that are aimed at freedom, care for the future of humanity and recognition of its values.

Among the guests of the event were leaders and experts of republican NGOs, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions, as well as international organizations, government bodies.

At the end of the event, the results of the so-called Commquest in fundraising were announced as well as the overall outcomes of the event were presented.

We remind you that on February 28 this year, as part of World NGO Day, an Open Day will be held at the Center, where you can get information and advice on all issues of interest. (Mangilik el ave. 30).

Since its establishment, NPJS Civil Initiatives Support Center has implemented 224 grant projects in the areas of education, science, protecting the rights, legitimate interests of citizens and organizations, culture and art development, etc. In addition, it is planned to implement around 100 social projects in 2020.
