On September 23-25, 2019, the Civil Initiatives Support Center with the support of the British Embassy in Kazakhstan held trainings on capacity building of NGOs.

The training was attended by representatives of NGOs from Nur-Sultan, Kostanay, Pavlodar and Almaty regions.

Coach Kate Denman, who has more than 15 years of experience in project management, conducted the training so that participants could analyze stakeholders, make projects using the method of logical chain, plan the project using time planning tools, explain what MEAL is (Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Training), define the key terms of MEAL, integrate MEAL into the project design, make a MEAL plan for the project.

Coach Indira Shah, a certified fundraising coach, taught how to make projects qualitatively for applications, where and how to seek funding to solve social problems, gave advice on interaction with potential partners.

Here are some comments of the participants:

  • “The course was very interesting. As a wish-more time to devote to practical tasks. As well as visual presentation of information (except for presentations, use videos, tests, etc., problem solving in a team and individually).»;
  • “An excellent coach, the disclosure of the issue was solely in the practical use of the knowledge gained. Highly motivated to provide real assistance to the target audience. Unfortunately, there was little time allotted for this training.»;
  • “The knowledge gained will be taken into account by me and my team when applying for project grant funding.”

We thank all participants for active and fruitful participation. We express our gratitude to the British Embassy in Nur-Sultan and JSC ” Kazpost”.
