The Civil Initiatives Support Center, as a state operator of grant funding for non-governmental organizations, provides clarification in connection with the public concern surrounding one of the projects in the Mangystau Region. Our primary role as an operator is to ensure the transparency of competitive procedures, monitor project implementation, and safeguard the effective use of budgetary funds. This remains our key priority.
In 2025, the project “Implementation of a set of measures for the rescue and timely assistance of wild birds” is being implemented in the Mangystau Region, with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the region acting as the contracting authority. Following the results of the Expert Commission meeting, the winner of the competition and grant recipient was determined to be the Public Foundation “Environmental Fund of Kazakhstan”.
In response to inquiries regarding the grant recipient, the Center has sent an official request concerning the implementation progress of the project. As of today, no response has been received.
Given the public interest and the need for additional verification, the implementation of the project has been temporarily suspended. All verification results will be published and communicated to the public.
