Social project within the grant funding of the US Embassy in Nur-Sultan launched

In January, 2021 “Civil Initiatives Support Center” NPJSC within the framework of the grant program “American Corners” began the implementation of a social project under the grant support of the US Embassy in Nur-Sultan the Public Affairs Section, the US Department of State.

The goal of the project is to contribute to increase the level of economic independence among female students of colleges in Nur-Sultan, studying in educational programs in the field of sewing/manufacturing and modeling, by developing entrepreneurial skills and raising motivation.

The project provides for a number of training seminars on such basic aspects of entrepreneurship as business planning, marketing, sales, and communication, as well as training seminars on the fashion history to expand employment and self-employment opportunities of participants.

Moreover, in order to facilitate capacity development and improve the motivation of girls it is planned to organize a dialogue platform, which will involve informal meetings on various topics with qualified experts in the aforementioned sectors.

In addition, the participants will perform practical tasks based on given knowledge, as well as at the end of the project, a competition will be held among the participants on tailoring costumes for a theatrical performance, which will provide an opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
