Civil Initiatives Support Center is a friendly team in which representatives of several generations work successfully. By combining professionalism, experience, youth, and innovation, we work daily to improve the mechanism of interaction between the state and non-governmental organizations in Kazakhstan. Our team helps NGOs and initiative groups implement their best ideas through the provision of state and non-state grants. In cooperation with the domestic civil sector as well as international organizations, we aim to achieve high standards in ensuring the transparency of grant activities.
The mission of developing civil society in Kazakhstan may sound quite simple, but its significance for society and the entire country should not be underestimated. Our primary mission is to improve the mechanism of interaction between the state and NGOs in Kazakhstan by providing both state and non-state grants to NGOs and monitoring their implementation. We position ourselves as a bridge between the government, civil society, and donor organizations. Through the consolidation of efforts and resources, we strive to achieve meaningful change and meet the needs of society. Developing the potential of NGOs and civil activists should not rely solely on financial support. Therefore, we place special emphasis on providing methodological, analytical, organizational, and consultative support.
The Non-Commercial Joint Stock Company “Civil Initiatives Support Center” (CISC) was established in accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 31, 2015. The purpose of its establishment is the implementation of state policy in the field of grant funding for non-governmental organizations. Since its foundation, the Center has acted as an operator in the field of NGO grant financing—the only one in Kazakhstan that provides both state and non-state grants, as well as carries out monitoring and evaluation of project effectiveness. The sole shareholder of the Center is the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
