NCJSC “Civil Initiatives Support Center”: Results of the Monitoring of Grant Projects in Mangystau Region

Publication: 09.09.2025

The Civil Initiatives Support Center has received appeals concerning the quality of implementation of certain grant projects in Mangystau Region. In order to ensure an objective review of the information received, the Center initiated an inspection in accordance with the terms of the concluded agreements.

Following the monitoring of the project “Preservation and Timely Assistance to Wild Birds,” implemented by the Public Foundation “Environmental Fund of Kazakhstan,” the Center initiated the procedure for termination of the agreement with the grant recipient in order to optimize the further implementation of social projects and ensure the effective allocation of grant funds. The grant recipient undertook to fully return the grant funds to the budget.

At the same time, a decision was made to conduct a comprehensive review of all projects implemented by this organization, as well as an additional analysis of the practices of implementing grant projects by organizations registered outside the region where the projects are carried out.

The Center consistently conducts monitoring and oversight of grant project implementation, ensuring the proper fulfillment of obligations, effective use of public funds, and increased transparency of the grant mechanism. All measures undertaken are aimed at protecting the interests of society and taxpayers, as well as strengthening public trust in the state grant system.

In addition, the Center reminds that a public monitoring system is in place, allowing citizens and NGOs to independently participate in overseeing the implementation of grant projects.

The final results of the comprehensive review and further decisions will be communicated to the public through the Center’s official information platforms.
