The Third Meeting of the National Organizing Committee for the International Year of Volunteers Was Held in Astana

The third meeting of the National Organizing Committee for the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development of the United Nations, initiated by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was held in Astana.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chair of the National Organizing Committee and Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yevgeniy Kochetov, Head of the International Secretariat of the International Year of Volunteers Sandra Koch, representatives of the Committee for Civil Society Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, volunteer organizations, and members of the expert community.The International Secretariat highlighted the high quality and effective implementation of the International Year of Volunteers initiatives in Kazakhstan. During the meeting, participants also discussed the development of the volunteer movement in the country and across Central Asia. In particular, they reviewed the ongoing work in Astana, international cooperation efforts, and preparations for the Concept for the Development of the Volunteer Movement through 2030.
