Open call for applications to support the border population from the Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA)

The Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA) announces the launch of the second competition of applications from non-profit organizations of civil society and non-governmental organizations of Central Asia aimed at improving the living conditions of the population of the border areas.

 

Aim of the grant: Support for the participation of NGOs working in the border regions of Central Asia in the implementation of initiatives in the interests of the population of the border regions of the Central Asian countries.

 

Priority areas of grants:

  • Research and analysis in the field of migration, cross-border and related fields;
  • Raising awareness on the prevention of irregular migration and human trafficking;
  • Assistance to vulnerable populations affected by migration and located near borders;
  • Entrepreneurship support, including social entrepreneurship initiatives;
  • Assistance to networks and forums of CSOs and NGOs working in border regions to discuss issues of migration and border territories, as well as cooperation in these areas.

 

Total amount available under the program: 660,000 euros.

 

Total available amount for one grant: from 45,000 to 60,000 euros.

 

Eligibility:

 

  • Registered NGOs, including civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, public associations, foundations, research institutes operating in the border regions of the Central Asian states (including for Kazakhstan: The Mangystau region, the Aktobe region, the Kyzylorda region, the Turkestan region, the Jambyl region, and the Almaty region) are eligible to apply
  • Projects can be implemented by one NGO or a consortium consisting of two or more Central Asian non-profit organizations jointly targeting a border area of a Central Asian state
  • have a legal status to operate and implement projects in the border areas of their countries
